SPANISH GOVERNMENT. LABOUR AND INMIGRATION DEPARTMENT
SOCIAL SECURITY HEADQUARTERS IN ANTEQUERA (MÁLAGA)
After the demolition of the former building in the plot, it became an empty space used as an unregulated parking lot. Now the building has a unitary volume allowing the control of the urban fabric. As a response to the environment and its orientations, this volume presents many differences among its sides:
- To the east, the ground floor is presented as a glass plinth allowing onlookers to witness the administrative work that takes place in the building. A garden area provides a reasonable distance between the internal and urban activity, making easier for civil servants to focus on their work.
- In all the other floors, the face-brick match with the colours of the vernacular masonry and brick. To the north, the meeting rooms on the first and second floors overlook through a large opening space Maria Cristina Park.
