Once the plan determining factors have been analysed and the mandatory alignments have been observed, the project proposes a U-shaped implementation. The residential rooms are located on the first and second floor. These floors lean on a massive skirting, which houses the general services of the care home. These services can be grouped into five main sections depending on the needs of their applications.

This whole series of rooms with different usages will be connected one with each other as well as with the residential area through two circulation routes. The first one will be an inner route overlooking Panama Avenue. The second one will be outdoors; a covered porch will offer the residents the interaction with the outside space. Both routes use the vertical cores which connect all the floors as a run away towards the courtyard, enhancing the richness of gardens and pedestrian walks.

Consequently, the courtyard is the centre of activity, a leisure extension to all the centre main rooms. The courtyard is formed by a series of paths, resting and entertainment areas. Landscaping, sun exposure and functionality have been the guidelines for the courtyard’s design.
