41 STATE-SUBSIDISED DWELLINGS IN BENAMEJI (CORDOBA)
The five plots of the proposal are located to the north of Benameji, close to the A- 3228 highway access, in a newly planned area which will define the limit between the urban fabric and its rural environment.
The proposal aims to dignify the transition between the village and the olive groves, relying on the possibilities the area offers.
- The topography, a slope going from east to west, enables the dwellings to overlook the surrounding rural landscape.
- The streets open out onto the fields. This creates a sequence field-street-dwelling with special relevance to the design.
- The urban scale and the scarce road traffic allow the public space to be visually and functionally connected to the dwellings.
In this project, the building of a series of unitary volumes is proposed. It is made up of two-bedroom and three-bedroom dwellings plus an adapted one for the disabled, necessary according to the current rules since the building exceeds the number of 33 dwellings. Also, the design of the building allows a solid structure of the plot in all its boundaries.
